CEO Christina Qi receives UBS Female Founder Award
SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 12, 2025 — Christina Qi, CEO of Databento, has been named this year's UBS Female Founder Award winner. She was chosen from 13 finalists for her leadership style and dedication to creating inclusive cultures, as well as for Databento's financial performance and growth potential.
"Receiving this award validates our mission to democratize access to institutional-grade market data—proving that modern infrastructure can replace the systems holding the industry back," said Qi. "This recognition proves that diverse founders are defining the future of financial infrastructure—not just participating in it."
Since founding Databento, Qi has developed the company into a platform that connects over 24,000 customers with market data from more than 60 venues worldwide. Databento has also experienced rapid growth in both users and revenue since its public launch just over two years ago.
In building Databento, Qi assembled a team in which women and minorities make up a significant share of the company—a composition that resulted from recruiting innovative talent from diverse backgrounds. Despite receiving thousands of applications a week, the company ensures every resume is reviewed by hand rather than automated screening, demonstrating its commitment to assessing candidates beyond algorithmic filters.
