Today, we're excited to introduce Enda Peng, one of our engineering managers.

Enda joined Databento after working as an engineer on the data team at Two Sigma. There, he faced a common obstacle: "It was often challenging to manage both external data vendors and legacy tech stacks," he explains. That experience shaped what he wanted next. What drew him to Databento was the ambition to overcome these challenges and the "opportunity to rebuild and modernize the stack, turning it into a service that could be accessible to all market participants."

That vision drives everything he does at Databento. Most days, he starts his mornings by reviewing product metrics and feedback to get a better understanding of how people are using the platform. Beyond that, he spends his days doing a mix of planning, coding, and collaborating with the team in meetings.

Coming from a larger company, Enda values the ability to make a real impact and explore new areas through his work. One aspect of the culture that particularly stands out to him:

"I like that we have a company culture where people are encouraged to propose ideas, and there's plenty of support from leadership to try new things that might lead somewhere. The openness helps fresh thinking emerge and makes room for multiple perspectives."

The results of that culture are clear to Enda, who's seen its impact firsthand over the last few years. "I've been part of the journey since before the first user table was created, and now we've become a firm with solid revenue and reputation." For him, every milestone is a result of focus, teamwork, and relentless improvement.

When he considers what drives that sense of progress, he credits the founders of Databento, Christina and Luca. After working with them for several years, he's "felt their genuine passion and learned how much commitment one can devote to their career. Their authenticity and commitment set the standard for everyone to follow."

Outside of work, Enda carries his commitment to growth into personal pursuits, spending time on activities that challenge him. Currently, he's learning Spanish and how to play the guitar. He also stays active in WeChat communities focused on quant trading.
