Databento US Equities Basic
Info
Databento US Equities Basic is a bundle of proprietary market data feeds from three US equities exchanges: NYSE Texas, NYSE National, and IEX.
Details for each underlying dataset are available on the following pages:
Venues
Databento US Equities bundles include data from multiple venues.
The publisher_id
field on every record can be used to identify the venue associated with the event.
The values corresponding to these IDs are available through the metadata.list_publishers endpoint.
Symbology
The constituent feeds of Databento US Equities use different symbol suffixes and different numerical IDs to refer to instruments. This page on ticker symbol conventions from Nasdaq outlines the four most common suffix patterns used for US equities, with the "Nasdaq Integrated Platform Suffix" being the most common, and the "CMS Suffix" used by NYSE-owned feeds such as NYSE Texas.
Databento US Equities bundles standardize on using the "Nasdaq Integrated Platform Suffix" for the raw symbol, regardless of which suffix is originally used by the venue.
However, in the definition schema, the raw_symbol
field will be based on the original value from the venue.
Additionally, Databento US Equities bundles use internally-assigned instrument IDs.
These IDs are assigned strictly from the raw symbol string; they do not take into account corporate actions like renames, relistings, or mergers.
The upstream-publisher-assigned instrument IDs are available in the raw_instrument_id
field of the definition schema.
